NY Minute

Last night on the 2 train, I'm pretty sure I met my Asian twin. Sitting directly across from me, she was just as diminutive and petite as I am. Her hair was long and dark, with sideswept bangs like mine. She had on green shoes and jeans, as did I. She was wearing the exact same sleeping bag coat as mine...I mean exact same one (long, black, quilted, coyote fur and velvet lined hood, belted at the waist, Laundry by Shelli Segal), not just similar. For the frosting on the cake, she had on a wedding ring that was dang near identical to mine. In the words of Seth Cohen, "I didn't know whether to be honored, or deeply disturbed by it."

woah, jamie, that is pretty incredible. same outfit and all! crazy that you two were even on the same train car and everything. that is super freaky friday.

i once found my twin (but four inches taller) at a get up kids concert. i couldn't keep my eyes off her since whit and i thought she looked just like me! it was surreal. i imagined us to be best of friends and really connect, but in my get up kids stupor, i went up and talked to her. all the magic stopped there. to my surprise, she didn't want to be my new bff. it suddenly seemed as though the only thing we had in common was our locale. my parent trap dreams were cut short.

hopefully Asian twin puff coat girl will cross your path again someday and you'll be very happy together..

You should have pulled out your camera! You've got one of those miniscule ones--she never woulda noticed!

Please quote Seth as often as possible. I am going to go through withdrawals.

This is hilarious! One time my friend Ben said he had found my "man twin", meaning the dude who looked like me if I were a dude. You know what I mean. Anyway, it turned out to be some swarthy guy I had known in high school...DEPRESSING. Even more depressing that Ben kept trying to get us to go out. Did I say Ben was my friend?

Anyway, your twin sounds a lot cuter. Rock on 2 train! Best express in NYCeezie.

P.S. As Britton Woof says, "If you are one in a million, in New York there are eight of you."

PPS. You need to make the fonts darker on your blog!

I agree with Ali.. I wish you would have pulled out your camara and snapped a shot. But, if she really was your twin... and it sounds like she was... she would have been pulling out her camara at the same time too and you would have been taking a photo of your twin, taking a photo of you.

Good point, Lori. That might have been where the "disturbing" part really entered the scene.
