The New Me

I used to be a (somewhat) chic lady
who wore designer clothing and heels every day
and a spritz of this

as I walked around effortlessly in my sunglasses and scarf

Now, most days
I wear a different version of the same non-dry-clean-only outfit
and smell like this

with a hint of spit up
and I feel like a donkey packhorse lugging all Baby Lu's gear around

But...
I still haven't entirely given up my heels
sometimes they're the thing that keep me going
but sometimes
I just give up and wear flats

at least it is a pleasant smell. i usually smell like i just worked out and didn't have time to shower mixed in with dirt the kids carry around with them and maybe the alcohol scent of hand sanitizer (better that then the smell of the diaper that necessitated the stuff). welcome to mommyhood and i am glad you can keep some of your classic glamor.

Agreed. Though not as chic as you...motherhood seems to call more often than not! (and why is it that when you DO have that dry-clean only on-- that is when the worst of it comes? )

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I gave up on heels a couple years back and I don't even have a kid!

Sometimes Brit is like, remember how you used to wear heels? And I'm like, you try walking around nyc in heels all day and let me know how that works out for you.

You're still pretty cute, I have to say, in your mom-chic look :)

On the upside, the spit-up will one day stop. It might take ten months to start slowing, but it won't go on forever.

Still, I haven't managed to revert back to heels. I was always a flats-girl anyway. You look cute no matter what.

cheers. loved lunch, loved you, loved lu. so fun to catch up, let's do it again and again. ps: at least you still look fabulous, still smell nice and even attempt to wear heels. you are a witness that i look like i might have showered...or not, and the clothes i am wearing could have been laundered...or not. oh the joy. no really, it is. much love.
