Red Velvet

If ever there was an appropriate time to make red velvet cake. Theme-colored and sinfully delicious, this cake is seductively screaming (not sure how that happens) to be the sweets for your sweet this Valentines Day.

*Just make sure you use a recipe with the right frosting. None of this buttercream or cream cheese frosting nonsense.*

This cake looks scrumptious. I was thinking of heart shaped sugar cookies & pink icing, but I may have to reconsider!

Will someone please tell me where to find a delicious red velvet cake recipe? I have made this several times with disappointing results. I want to love red velvet, but so far I only love the idea of it. I can't seem to make one that tastes as good as it looks!

It is the best, and oh so romantic. My mom makes a pretty mean one this time of year. It is my favorite!

FYI- the Sprinkles Red Velvet cupcakes (the mix is available at Williams Sonoma) are to DIE FOR in case you are looking for something a little easier...
