It's definitely effective, though I can't help but feel like I'm invading their privacy.
I agree with Ali, it makes me feel really really uncomfortable watching it... in fact I have to turn the channel.

Surely you jest, dear sister. I've got my little finger on the pulse of all the latest and greatest useless knowledge you could possibly want or need. I watch Entertainment Tonight (they were SO cute!). They barely speak each others language, but are totally in love.
